Master Plan Committee
The Master Plan Committee is an advisory group whose duties include monitoring and continuing the implementation of the plan's goals, which include:
- Define current and future facility needs including campus expansion in light of UT’s goals to enhance academic program quality and research.
- Provide an overall impression of quality in all aspects of the campus, allowing UT to recruit and retain the highest quality students and faculty.
- Promote a sense of community by providing both indoor and outdoor spaces for interaction of students and faculty as well as public gatherings.
- Integrate instruction, research, student living, and student activities in an environment with a consistent and unified character for the campus.
- Create a pedestrian-friendly environment with a series of interrelated walkways, defined public gathering spaces and green spaces.
- Develop comprehensive solutions for traffic, parking and infrastructure.
- Provide a variety of options for student housing and amenities.
- Promote sound environmental policies.
- Promote the interrelationship of the city and campus, respecting existing conditions, natural amenities, issues of historic preservation and economic viability.
