Master Plan Committee

The Master Plan Committee is an advisory group whose duties include monitoring and continuing the implementation of the plan's goals, which include:

  • Define current and future facility needs including campus expansion in light of UT’s goals to enhance academic program quality and research.
  • Provide an overall impression of quality in all aspects of the campus, allowing UT to recruit and retain the highest quality students and faculty.
  • Promote a sense of community by providing both indoor and outdoor spaces for interaction of students and faculty as well as public gatherings.
  • Integrate instruction, research, student living, and student activities in an environment with a consistent and unified character for the campus.
  • Create a pedestrian-friendly environment with a series of interrelated walkways, defined public gathering spaces and green spaces.
  • Develop comprehensive solutions for traffic, parking and infrastructure.
  • Provide a variety of options for student housing and amenities.
  • Promote sound environmental policies.
  • Promote the interrelationship of the city and campus, respecting existing conditions, natural amenities, issues of historic preservation and economic viability.
