Video from the 2005 Campus Walk Dear Friends: I'd like to invite you to participate in the second annual America on the Move in Tennessee Day of Action set for 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, here on campus. Last year more than 300 employees and students joined in, and we are pleased to again host the campus-wide walk for all students, faculty, and staff. The event will culminate with a celebration at the TRECS plaza that will offer food, prizes, and free pedometers for the first 250 people to cross the finish line. For more than two years, our campus has been host to America on the Move in Tennessee. The second annual Day of Action is a national initiative designed to inspire people to make simple choices that lead to healthier lifestyles. There are four locations to join the walk: UT Conference Center, Circle Park, Presidential Courtyard and the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Walkers should report to their preferred location by 8:45 a.m. Each starting point and path will be well marked and various leaders and groups will participate in the event. The routes range from 1,120 steps to 2,470 steps. I hope that you will seize this opportunity and take the small steps that yield big results for your health. In the meantime, if you have not already, I encourage you to take the pledge to move more and enhance your health by visiting the America on the Move Web site at http://www.americaonthemove.org. If you have questions, please call America on the Move in Tennessee at 865-974-1345.
