Catlett to Lead Knoxville Alumni Operations
TO: All Faculty and Staff
FROM: Loren Crabtree, Chancellor
SUBJECT: Catlett to Lead Knoxville Alumni Operations
Oct. 2, 2006
Dear Friends:
Steve Catlett was recently named associate vice chancellor for alumni affairs. In this capacity, Steve will oversee programming and outreach to Knoxville campus alumni.
With nearly 190,000 Knoxville campus alumni, it is important to maintain and strengthen relationships with our graduates through programming and enhanced communications.
Steve graduated from UT in 1985 with a degree in marketing and worked in sales for seven years in Knoxville and Raleigh, N.C. He was an active volunteer in the Raleigh alumni chapter, serving as president for three years. His volunteer link to UT drew him to an official position in 1992. Prior to this appointment, he has been serving as director of alumni programs.
His commitment to this university and its graduates makes him the ideal person to lead our alumni program to the next level.
Some of the new alumni initiatives will include small group breakfasts where I will update alumni and community leaders on the progress at UT; an alumni speaker series and college-specific events led by deans to keep alumni connected with their programs; and a new young alumni focus that provides networking opportunities as well as important value-added programming.
Steve's creativity, along with his initiative and commitment to alumni, will help ensure a lifelong UT experience for our graduates.
