Last night, I had the pleasure of hosting a wonderful event that honored our best and brightest students and our most diligent and dedicated faculty and staff.

More than 300 people attended the Chancellor's Honors Banquet to celebrate six new Torchbearers and our new faculty Macebearer -- the highest honors bestowed by the university.

We also celebrated student, faculty and staff contributions of service to the community, exemplary customer service, and extraordinary teaching and research, to name just a few.

I'd like to congratulate all of this year's honorees for their achievements. I also want to thank everyone who submitted nominations, served on an awards committee or helped make the banquet such a success.
