Position Announcement: Vice Chancellor, Communications
The University of Tennessee invites internal candidates to apply for the position Vice Chancellor, Communications. The Vice Chancellor serves as a key member of the Chancellor’s senior administrative team and will work closely with state and local government, media executives and other opinion leaders in the state of Tennessee.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree and ten years of experience in the field of Public Relations or Communications with a proven track record in progressively responsible positions. He/she must also have extensive experience consulting and advising senior level executives.
An advanced degree is preferred and experience in higher education is desirable.
JOB SKILLS: The successful candidate must be able to represent the University to external audiences, including government and alumni groups and to work collegially with a wide variety of constituencies. He/she must possess exceptional oral, written and other communication skills. A demonstrated commitment to promoting faculty, staff and student diversity and a work ethic consisting of commitment, honesty, integrity and respect for others is required.
