Position Announcement: Vice Chancellor, Finance and Administration
The University of Tennessee at Knoxville invites internal candidates to apply for the position of Vice Chancellor, Finance and Administration. This position will provide fiduciary and leadership responsibility for UTK in three primary areas of accountability: fiscal, physical and auxiliary operations. The Vice Chancellor serves as a key member of the campus’ senior administrative team to provide leadership and direction for campus-wide policy development and implantation impacting fiscal and operational activities.
MINIMUM QULIFICATIONS: The successful candidates must be licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or possess a Master’s degree with an emphasis in business administration, financial management or a related field. Minimum ten years of experience in a progressively more responsible finance and administrative management position at a comprehensive institution of higher education required.
JOB SKILLS: The successful candidate must be competent in understanding higher education issues, industry best practices, and current leadership trends. He/she must possess expertise in risk and financial management, budgeting, and reporting as well as the ability to interpret and communicate federal, state and local laws and regulations as related to higher education operations and system policies and procedures. The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all students, faculty members, administrators, alumnae, and other stakeholders. He/she should possess an understanding of research policies and the accompanying financial reporting requirements. A demonstrated commitment to promoting faculty, staff and student diversity and possess a work ethic consisting of commitment, honesty, integrity and respect for others is required.
