Extraordinary Service to the University

emily parkeremily parker, has more than 10 years of service to the university in more than 14 different capacities. She currently serves as director of the Parents Association and, in the past year, has increased membership in the Parents Association by 95 percent and increased the Parents and Families Fund by 237 percent. Parker also has dedicated her creativity to her work with the Office of Student Orientation and Leadership, the Evening School, Arts and Sciences Advising, the College of Communication and Information, Panhellenic, the Higher Education Program and the First Year Studies Program. On top of all this, Parker’s service to the Alpha Chi Omega sorority is above and beyond. She volunteers hundreds of hours a year in her roles as fundraising chair, recruitment chair and the sorority’s primary adviser. Parker’s dedication and enthusiasm are changing the face of the university and making it a better place for students and their families.

john sibleyjohn sibley’s support for the university began when he was appointed to serve on the task force commissioned to come up with a plan for a new Black Cultural Center. He totally immersed himself in that process and helped make the center one we can be proud of. Sibley continues to build relationships with students and faculty members by providing them a chance to partner with him and the Literacy Imperative Project. These partnerships provide valuable work experience, insights and hands-on knowledge for students. A true servant leader, Sibley’s nominator calls him “one of the unsung heroes who goes quietly about making contributions and rendering service for the good of all mankind.”
