2010 Alexander Prize
Daniel Roberts
The 2010 award goes to Daniel Roberts, whose primary teaching responsibility is Biochemistry and Molecular Biology I, a required course for biology majors. His impeccable organization, student rapport, and innovative teaching tools are reflected in consistently high evaluations from the 200 students who take his course each semester. His research focuses on how plant cells process information about their physical environment, and his work has led to insights on plant breeding and plant response to temperature and drought. Roberts’s work has shaped the lives of many through his research accomplishments and his role as a caring, yet challenging, teacher.
