
LGBT Advocate Award
The LGBT Advocate Award recognizes leadership, integrity, and outstanding contributions in the promotion of an inclusive, safe, and respectful climate for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people at the University of Tennessee. The recipient demonstrates a commitment to the advancement of LGBT issues on campus and has created a tangible impact through dedication and support of the university’s LGBT population.
All UT Knoxville employees including administrators, faculty, exempt staff, and non-exempt staff are eligible for the award.
To nominate a faculty or staff member for the award, please send a letter of nomination addressing the award criteria and describing the nominee’s specific contributions along with a current vita or bio of the nominee to: Renee Smith, Chair, Commission for LGBT People Awards Committee, 209 Hodges Library. Nominations may also be faxed to 974-8245.
