
Hardy Liston Jr. Symbol of Hope Award

This award recognizes outstanding, proactive contributions made through serving the educational community and/or the promotion of cultural diversity at UT. Recipients have demonstrated a commitment to the development of individuals in our society through cultivating and enriching the human mind and spirit. Recipients are openly proactive in his/her beliefs in a diverse university community. For example, membership in organizations that promote diversity or plan/sponsor campus or community-wide programs dealing with diversity, multiculturalism, and/or appreciation of differences.
For purposes of this award:
- Faculty nominees must have been employed by UT Knoxville for a minimum of three years.
- Exempt and non-exempt staff nominees must have been employed by UT Knoxville for a minimum of three years.
- Alumni and friends of the university are defined as individuals or groups.
