Chancellor's Honors Banquet
The Honors Banquet is held each spring to recognize students, faculty, staff and friends of the University of Tennessee for their extraordinary achievements.

Torchbearer
The Torchbearer Award is the highest student honor conferred by the University of Tennessee. It is awarded to seniors for academic achievement and outstanding commitment to the University and the community. Nomination deadline: February 16th. [more information]
Volunteer of the Year
The Volunteer of the Year Award is given to a rising senior recognized for strength of character and service to the University of Tennessee. Nomination deadline: February 9, 2007. [more information]
Academic Outreach Awards for Faculty and Students/Student Groups
The Academic Outreach Awards recognize extraordinary contributions of faculty and students (or student groups) to the public that occur as an outgrowth of academic pursuits and are related to the University's academic mission. Nomination deadline: February 16, 2007 [more information]
Top Collegiate Scholars
Top Collegiate Scholars Recognition is given to Top Collegiate Scholars who are graduating with the highest academic grade point averages in their respective colleges. No application is necessary.

Jefferson Prize
The Jefferson Prize honors the principles of President Thomas Jefferson and was established by an anonymous donor. The award recognizes faculty members who have demonstrated excellence in research and creative activity or made other significant achievements that might not be recognized in the usual university reward system. Macebearer
The designation as University Macebearer is the most significant honor the University of Tennessee can bestow upon one of its faculty. The Macebearer is a faculty member who has exhibited a longstanding commitment and service to the University community. Nomination deadline: First Monday in February. [more information]
Research and Creative Achievement
The Research and Creative Achievement Awards are designed to recognize tenured faculty members at the associate or full professor rank. The purpose of these awards is to recognize faculty members who have received national and/or international recognition in their field, to stimulate research and creative achievement, and to emphasize that faculty research and creative achievement are integral to the mission of the University of Tennessee. Professional Promise in Research and Creative Achievement Awards
The Professional Promise in Research and Creative Achievement Awards recognize tenured or tenure track faculty members at the assistant or associate professor rank who have received national and/or international recognition in their fields and show professional promise in their areas of research and creative achievement. These awards are intended to encourage excellence in research and creative achievement, to emphasize the critical role of research and creative achievement in the professional development of our faculty, and to reinforce that faculty research and creative achievement are integral to the mission of the University of Tennessee. L. R. Hesler Award
The Hesler Award recognizes a faculty member who has outstanding teaching abilities and service to the University community. The award stipend is divided three ways. One-fourth is a personal award to the recipient, one-fourth is given to the library for books in the recipient's discipline, and one-half funds an academic project of the recipient's choosing. Commission for Women Awards
Angie Warren Perkins Award
The Angie Warren Perkins Award was named for the first Dean of Women at the University, and will honor a woman faculty member who is still on a probationary tenure track and who shows outstanding promise of scholarship, teaching, and/or other contributions to campus intellectual life. Notable UT Women Award
The Notable UT Woman Award was first given in 1995 following a recommendation by then University Historian Dr. Milton Klein that outstanding women connected with the University be honored annually. The award recognizes women from three rotating categories: administrator, alumnae, and faculty and staff. Nomination deadline: Nov 10. [more information]
Women of Achievement Awards
The Women of Achievement Award honors women who have, through extraordinary accomplishments in either a traditional or non-traditional area, significantly improved the status of women within the University community.
