An investiture is an academic ceremony held to formally recognize the appointment of a new chief executive some time after they have taken office. This ceremony is an alternative to a multi-day inauguration celebration which would take place at the time a new chancellor or president assumes the role. An investiture ceremony allows the campus and the larger academic community to recognize the new leader, who has been serving since Feb. 1, 2009. Cheek will share with those assembled a vision for the future of the institution.
