It’s Football Time in Tennessee

UT football game

A new era begins Saturday when our football Vols, with Coach Butch Jones at the helm, face Austin Peay in the season opener. Kickoff is at 6:00 p.m.

During the preseason, Coach Jones has been connecting with fans in person and on social media. Talk of intensity and leadership punctuates practice reports, and we’re looking forward to an exciting season.

As Director of Athletics Dave Hart has said, “There’s a lot of positive energy and Butch Jones has been driving that train.”

When you come out to cheer for the Vols, remember that Tailgate Tennessee, UT football's official tailgate park, has moved from Humanities Amphitheater to Circle Park.

You also can see work commencing on something that will mean a lot to UT fans—Pat Summitt Plaza.

It will feature a bronze statue of our legendary women’s basketball coach and celebrate the Lady Vols basketball program. The plaza will sit just outside Thompson-Boling Arena at the intersection of Lake Loudoun Boulevard and Phillip Fulmer Way. For more about the project, see
