New! New! New!
There are several exciting new services on campus this fall. We also have a fleet of new buses especially designed for Rocky Top.
Students are finding it much easier to conduct their business with our university, thanks to the One Stop Express Student Services center, which opened over the summer on the ground floor of the John C. Hodges Library. It brings enrollment, registration, financial aid, and payment services into one location that’s staffed by counselors and equipped with the latest technology.
This summer we unveiled a fleet of new campus buses, which we call “the T.” Operated by First Transit, the buses were manufactured especially for UT with lots of orange, checkerboard, and images of Smokey. The buses are accessible to passengers with disabilities and are equipped with USB charging stations and bicycle racks. Riders can use a mobile app to track the buses.
Over the summer, our bookstore became VolShop. It’s a more appropriate name for the store, which sells everything from school supplies to technology to apparel—in addition to books.
A few changes over the summer should make our dining options more convenient. We’ve opened a new 24-hour “grab and go” market in Hodges Library and extended the hours of our Presidential Court residence hall grocery so it’s also open 24/7. We’re also offering a reduced price meal plan for commuter students.
