Dolly’s Commencement Speech Led to New Book

Dolly PartonIn the spring of 2009, East Tennessee native Dolly Parton received an honorary degree from UT and gave a memorable commencement address in which she urged graduates to “dream more, learn more, care more, and do more.” Dolly has turned that message into a new book, Dream More: Celebrate the Dreamer in You.

Dolly recently appeared on Good Morning America to talk about how her commencement address became a book. Watch the interview and a musical performance at abcnews.go.com/US/book-excerpt-dolly-partons-dream-celebrate-dreamer/story?id=17813533#.ULYtp4UhPo1

All sales of Dolly’s new book will benefit the Imagination Library, a nonprofit organization that promotes early childhood literacy by offering free books to children in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
