Congratulations on Your First Day Online

Good afternoon Vol Nation.

It’s been a great day.

I want to thank everyone for their part in planning, delivering, and engaging in online

classes today.

I really want to give a big shout out to the Office of Information Technology and all their backup work they did to support and give confidence to the people participating in online courses today.

We’ve taken a big step forward as a university and I’m so proud of everyone’s role in this and I thank each and every one of you.

We’ve even converted academic advising, academic success coaching and many other normal student services to a virtual setting.

In fact, I’m even moving my chancellor’s office hours that usually take place on Tuesdays at 4:00 PM, I’m moving those to a virtual setting as well.

So look for me tomorrow at 4:00 PM on Facebook live and I’ll be there, ready to take your questions and have a conversation about this new world we’re living in.

You know what I saw today and I’ve seen for the last two weeks it’s so many people stepping forward to lead with courage.

They’ve been creative, they’ve been compassionate, and they’ve been flexible.

So thank you to each and everyone one of you, and let’s make this the greatest time to be a Vol.
