Chancellor’s Weekly Message to Faculty & Staff: May 7, 2020
Transcript
Good afternoon colleagues.
Well, we made it through this challenging semester.
We made it together.
And I appreciate all of the efforts you made to help our students find their way towards course completion.
This has been a particularly challenging time.
And I want to thank each of you for the flexibility, the courage, the compassion, the creativity that you’ve shown.
As you know, we’re planning to return to campus in the fall.
And our plans are underway to try to think about how to do that in a way that keeps everyone safe, and at the same time provides a great learning environment.
We established the Re-Imagining Task Force, seventy-one people, six subcommittees, thinking hard about the considerations that are important for us as we make our plans.
Also, Phase One of our employees returning to work begins May 11.
I hope that you’ll pay close attention to the guidelines we’ve set out as we plan to do that.
Again, I want to thank all of you for your hard work for getting us to this point.
This is a special place, and I appreciate everyone’s effort.
So please take care of yourself and your families.
I look forward to seeing each of you back on campus soon.
Thank you and Go Vols!
