A Celebration of Tennessee’s Next Generation of Leaders
Commencement will always be my favorite time of the year. After a years-long investment by our students and their faculty, their advisors and mentors, their friends and family, we come together to celebrate their achievements and launch the next phase of their lives.
At UT, we produce more graduates than any other institution in Tennessee. This spring more than 5,400 students will receive their degree—more than 4,000 of them undergraduates—and most of them will stay right here in Tennessee.
We are training the next generation of teachers, nurses, social workers, and engineers to fill these high-demand jobs across Tennessee. Their education at UT has trained them to thrive in the workforce, and their experience as a Volunteer has prepared them to be leaders in their community.
I’m so proud of our graduates and grateful to all the people who have helped them along the way.
