Chancellor’s Weekly Message to Faculty & Staff: April 16, 2020
Transcript
This message is for all of our amazing faculty and staff who are doing so much in this difficult time. I appreciate your work everything that you’re doing to support our students. This is not the way we envisioned spring semester would go. None of us envisioned it.
Many of you have expressed interest in how do we plan to recognize our graduates and their accomplishments this semester. So let me share with you our plans.
We are planning in-person graduation and hooding ceremonies for later in the year when health officials tell us it’s safe to do so, but we also want you to know that we are gonna find a way and we’re making plans to celebrate our graduates’ accomplishments in May.
To do this we’re coordinating with the deans to plan virtual celebrations until the time when we can invite everyone back to walk across the stage in person.
We also plan to send some special surprises in the mail to our graduates next month.
I can’t wait to celebrate our graduates accomplishments with you in person and we will communicate those dates as soon as we have them.
Thank you for everything you’re doing. Thank you for your heart and your compassion and Go Vols!
