New Social Distancing Measures for Campus
Dear colleagues,
As you begin returning to campus, either full-time or on occasion, you will notice some differences since you were last here. Our facilities services team is hard at work implementing new measures to encourage social distancing and other precautionary behaviors.
You will see new signage directing foot traffic, marking six-foot spacing, and identifying area closures. New plexiglass screens are being installed in some locations, along with hand sanitizer and Clorox wipe stations. We are installing automatic faucets, toilets, and door openers to minimize the need to touch surfaces. Classrooms and other spaces are being rearranged to accommodate safe spacing.
These measures may seem strange at first as we all adjust to a new normal, but they are intended to keep our campus healthy and to prevent the spread of COVID-19. For these precautions to be effective, however, it will take everyone committing to follow the guidance. I encourage you to learn more about these new expectations and to keep an eye out for signage and other directions when on campus.
Thank you, as always, for doing your part.
