Chancellor Plowman Announces 2023-24 Leadership Academy Class
Chancellor Donde Plowman has announced the second class of the Chancellor’s Leadership Academy, which includes 30 deans, associate deans, directors, department heads, and other faculty and staff from across the university.
The eight-month program launched in 2022 to identify emerging campus leaders and further develop their professional and personal leadership skills. The group will meet monthly with Plowman and other top university leaders to build on individual strengths and problem-solving skills through critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration.
“Lifting up and empowering our emerging leaders is an investment both in them and our university. It ensures that the momentum we’ve built in recent years will continue well into the future,” Plowman said. “Each member of this class brings their own unique experiences and perspectives to the table, and I look forward to learning from them.”
Participants are encouraged to cultivate meaningful relationships with their peers to promote community and accountability across campus. The class includes leaders from academic colleges as well as support units including student life, the provost’s office, research, communications, athletics, and other areas.

The academy has its first meeting September 20.
