In addition to her role as chancellor, Donde Plowman is a widely recognized organizational scientist whose scholarship includes the topics of leadership, change management, and strategic decision-making. She has launched several initiatives to educate and empower leaders across the university and beyond.
Leadership Initiatives
On Leadership Series
On Leadership is a video series featuring conversations between Plowman and leaders from across different fields, including athletics, private industry, and government. The series examines different facets of leadership, such as team building and decision-making, as well as the different paths leaders took to arrive where they are now. Guests include UT Men’s Head Basketball Coach Rick Barnes and Knoxville Mayor Indya Kincannon.
Chancellor’s Leadership Academy
The Chancellor’s Leadership Academy is an annual leadership development program created to build and expand professional and personal leadership within a diverse community of faculty and staff at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
Leading with Courage Course
Leading with Courage is an undergraduate honors course taught by Plowman and former Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam focused on the theoretical and practical application of courageous leadership.
