That’s why it is my privilege to celebrate the leadership and service of Robert J. Booker, a Knoxville native and Tennessee’s first Black state representative, with an honorary doctorate in humanities from the College of Arts and Sciences.


The Volunteer Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America named Chancellor Donde Plowman Communicator of the Year for the Knoxville area.

We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Brian Broyles as senior vice chancellor for advancement at UT Knoxville, a position of pivotal importance in advancing the university’s mission.

This year it was a pleasure to honor one of these alumni, former ambassador Arthur B. Culvahouse, with an honorary Doctor of Letters—the first degree granted from the new Baker School of Public Policy and Public Affairs.
This year we have shared big wins and meaningful moments. We have set bold ambitions and achieved hard-fought milestones. Together we have seen our students thrive, our faculty and staff recognized, and our research celebrated.
